Position Overview:

Stax is a data-driven global strategy consulting firm. We rely on expert data analysis to provide our clients with actionable strategies for their investments and profit maximization. This data is generated through primary research (e.g., on line/web surveys, phone interviews), internal customer databases, and/or secondary sources. We are seeking for individuals who aspire to be data scientists and excel at statistical analysis. Statistical analysts should be capable of generating insights from datasets with as few as 50 records to as many as 100,000 records, as we feel the work of a business / statistical analyst is crucial in enabling us to see patterns within that data, and in ultimately generating the insights that prove so valuable to our clients.

 

The Trainee Statistical Analyst will be involved in preparing interview guides, programming surveys to gather data, data cleaning and presentation of analysis. This role also provides an opportunity get a grip of the project management skills, which would assist in the growth to become a team lead / manager.

 

Responsibilities:

Compiling interview guides and surveys for data collection based on client objectives
Clean and prepare datasets for analysis
Conduct guided and independent analysis on cleaned data in support of projects
Engage with US colleagues on projects and add value through insights and analysis
Generate insights from the data and present the findings in relevant visualization methods to be incorporated in client deliverables
Develop suitable models to estimate market size, market share etc using available data.
Develop and implement a variety of statistical techniques such as regressions, cluster analysis, decision trees and conjoint analysis for the development of new insights and recommendations to improve results

 

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in statistics, statistics with computer science, mathematics or engineering strongly preferred.
Expertise in Excel and statistical software such as SPSS, R or other statistical programs is required
Clarity in communicating and clearly articulating findings and opinions
Strong quantitative market research and modeling skills highly desirable
Ability to develop strong relationships and to work cross-functionally
Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously

 

Prerequisites

Persistence and creativity in identifying and exhibiting data and information in a client friendly manner
Ability to juggle with complex projects under tight deadlines
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Excellent strategic thinking, understanding of business analysis & analytical mindset
